At Tree of Life Christian Academy, our Wobblers Program is designed to foster a sense of security, curiosity, and growth for your 1-year-old. We focus on creating a nurturing environment where children can develop their social, intellectual, and physical skills through engaging activities and individualized attention.
Located in Weston and Davie, Tree of Life Christian Academy is the ideal preschool for wobblers to grow, learn, and thrive.
At Tree of Life Christian Academy, we recognize the significance of early milestones for wobblers.
Our program focuses on nurturing their curiosity and fostering
foundational skills that set the stage for future learning.
– Gross Motor Skills: Wobblers are mastering basic movement skills, such as walking, running, climbing, and balancing. They gain confidence in walking independently and exploring their environment with increasing physical coordination and strength.
– Fine Motor Skills: At this stage, they are improving hand-eye coordination, able to pick up small objects, stack blocks, and manipulate toys. They also start to experiment with feeding themselves using utensils.
– Wobblers are developing basic problem-solving skills and starting to understand cause and effect
(e.g., pressing a button to make a toy light up). They begin recognizing familiar people, objects, and routines. Object permanence improves, meaning they now understand that things continue to exist even when out of sight.
– Language skills begin to bloom, with toddlers typically saying a few words by 12 months and expanding to simple phrases by 24 months. They understand more words than they can express, can follow basic commands, and are building a foundational vocabulary, including names of familiar people, animals, and objects.
– Wobblers start developing a sense of self and attachment to primary caregivers. They show a range of emotions (joy, frustration, affection) and may express feelings through facial expressions, gestures, and words. They also begin to display empathy, such as comforting a sad caregiver or offering toys to peers.
– Wobblers are keenly engaged in exploring their world through their senses. They actively use touch, sight, and hearing to learn about objects and people around them. They might be fascinated by textures, colors, sounds, and tastes and often put objects in their mouths as part of sensory exploration.
